Why I Use TweetAdder and Recommend It

by kirkeberg on September 1, 2009

I’m one of those multiple identity people.  I blog about several subjects and have Twitter IDs to match them.  I was spending a lot of time keeping up with them.  I want people to read what I write, so of course I want followers.

Well, being just a little obsessive (just a little, honest), I ended up spending a lot of time on Twitter.  And I enjoy going on Twitter still today.  The problem is, seeing it as part of my job as a blogger to keep up with Twitter, I found myself spending too much time there, following people, and to some degree, getting followed back.

The trouble was (and looking back, it’s a little upsetteing) that I was tiring of Twitter as it became too much more business than it was pleasure.  I didn’t want to be involved in a rat race, not that I or any of those I follow, who follow me, or I hope so dearly that follow me in the future, are rats.

Okay, so what.  As you probably have been, I was deluged with spam about tools that will “bring you 300 new followers every damn day of the week.” Okay, I exxagerate.  I may have even bit on one once.  Trouble was, how do you have any idea who is following you?  Do they share interests with me?  Are they going to be interested in anything I write?  When I do find a product I like, will they be interested? Or do they want to sell me stocks, a mortgage, the absolute best SEO help I can get, or ….?

Then I came across TweetAdder on another blog I read.  What is great about TweetAdder?  Well first of all, I can look for people to follow using keywords, or location, or words in their bios.  This gives me at least some control of who I am attempting to connect with.  My goal is to connect with other Tweeters or beginning bloggers I can help.

Second, TweetAdder was foolish enough (or smart enough) to let me try it for the first 250 followers I would gain.  I think I had it for less than a day when I bought it.

I am not saying it is perfect.  Here is what I like, though.  They ask for feedback.  They want to make it better, and you are assured of free upgrades as long as you have it.  Pretty cool, huh?

My recommendation – Try it now! at least for the trial period.  You’re not obligated to go further.
